The memorial for Isaak Hermann Albert Altmann, a landscaper, was designed by Diedrich Kropp and erected on the occasion of Altmann’s 100th birthday on the 15th August 1877. It is located on top of the former Doventor bastion in the Wallanlagen (the former city wall moat). The marble bust was built on a high base with a three-step foundation made from sandstone from Oberkirchen.

Inscription: I.H.A. Altmann *on 15th August 1777 † on 13th December 1837

A second version of this bust is located in a façade niche of the house on Altmannstraße no.12. The bust in the Wallanlagen was destroyed in 1944, reconstructed in 2002/2003 based on the second version and erected on the former Ansgari bastion, close to its original location.
