"Lichtstäbe (“Light bar”)" 2000

Astrid Schlamann

light installation, lighting bars out of aluminium carriers, 15 meter length

Thanks to clear lines, the lighting bars conduce, besides illumination, to a guidance system.

Parallel running lighting bars diagonal crossing the clear opening. They poke out of the passage and mark the entrance from both street sides.

To design the lightning situation to the passageways “am Wall”, the senator for education, sports and science launched a competition. The idea developed by two architects named Katrin Scheele and Astrid Schlamann won and was put into practice.
