The Marcus fountain was inaugurated on the 4th November 1909 on the yard of the Church of Our Lady. The decahedral basin of the fountain was erected with a richly ornate fountain pipe of blue shell limestone. In the fountain pipe’s niches there are five bronze putti with toys or animals, from which water trickles.
Inscription on the basin:
“Sponsored by Victor Marcus Dr. jur., mayor MCMVIIII”
Inscription on the fountain pipe:
“Give me this water, that I thirst not” (Gospel according to St. John)
