"Mensch und Stadt (“human and the city”)" 1999

Ahmad Motiee

panel, canvas, acryl, 1,5 m x 1 m

The picture by artist Ahmad Motie tells stories about cities, landscapes, nature and the meeting between people. They are like visual diaries. Calligraphic writing breaks through these stories, gives them an individual form and structures the work. And the viewer sees a connection between the freedom of the west and the far eastern tradition of visual storytelling.

The artwork was developed in the course of the project “Artistical Interior Design”.

16 artists redesigned the police department building in Bremen on a sustained basis.
