"Original und Fälschung („Original and Fake“)" 2002
Mural painting, 11 m x 9 m
The mural painting seems like a picture from an educational book written in the 50’s.
From above, the viewer looks at a traffic junction. He or she detects a street scene with an intersection area, traffic lights, cars and pedestrians. A woman and a motorcyclist are on the street. Both of them are clearly oversized and do not really fit into the picture. Also they wear clothes, which do not fit into the pictured time.
The behaviour of one of the portrayed persons may cause problematic traffic situations.
The mural painting’s title “Original and Fake” humorously refers to those mistakes, which the viewer has to recognize.
